Boost Productivity: Master These 4 Techniques for Typing on PDFs
Access the Play Store and install Acrobat Reader DC to your Android device. This app is free and enables you to input text and signatures into PDF files on your phone or tablet.
To download Acrobat Reader DC, launch the Play Store and search for Adobe Acrobat Reader. Once you see the red icon with a white curled design, tap on it, and select Install.
Next, open the Acrobat Reader DC app, either through the Play Store or by clicking on the red-and-white curly line icon on your home screen or in the app drawer. If it’s your first time using the app, you will be prompted to sign in or create an account. You can sign in using your Google account or any other account of your choice.
Tap on the file icon, the second icon in the left panel, and browse through to locate the PDF file you want to type on. If it’s saved to your device, tap "On This Device," and select the file. If it's saved on Google Drive, Dropbox, or Adobe Document Cloud, browse for it there. If the PDF is attached to an email, download and save it on your Android to open it in Acrobat Reader.
Next, tap the PDF file to open it in Acrobat Reader. Click the pencil icon, and a menu with some options will appear. Under this menu, tap Fill & Sign, which is the second option. This will expand a toolbar at the top of the screen.
Tap the Ab icon, the first icon on the toolbar, to open the text tool. Click on the spot you want to input text. A text box will appear at that location. Adjust the size of the text by tapping on the small A to decrease the size or the larger A to increase it. Type the text and click/tap anywhere on the screen to exit the text box.
If the file requires a signature, follow these steps to sign it: Tap the pencil icon at the top-right corner of the toolbar, followed by Create Signature, or Create Initials, whichever is suitable for your needs. Create the signature and tap done. Tap the pencil icon again, and this time tap your signature to insert it into the document.
To append your signature, tap on the designated area. The font menu, clad in ebony, will emerge like a specter.
Tap on the fountain pen emblem, positioned third from the left in the horizontal midnight menu. Behold your signature materialize in front of you.
Strategically maneuver your signature to its desired location and exit by tapping on any space.
To store your new signature, summon the checkmark icon situated on the top-left of the screen.
Bring up the triple-dot menu, tapping on the same will furnish the option to 'Save as a Copy.' This prompts the appearance of various storage locations on your screen.
Choose a location, be it your Android device, Google Drive, or any other linked cloud account. This facilitates the preservation of your PDF copy that flaunts your autograph.
